Baptcare(VIC, TAS, SA), Baptist Care SA and BaptistCare (NSW, ACT, WA), have united to become Australia’s third largest integrated care and service provider, with the new entity known as BaptistCare. Members of the BUV and other Baptist state associations voted in favour of changes to the constitutions their local Baptist care organisations in February 2025 to make way for the merger, which took effect as of March 2025.
The new merged BaptistCare will continue to provide the broad range of services that current customers value and depend on, including family and community services, retirement living, residential aged care, home care, community and affordable housing, disability support, foster care, chaplaincy and spiritual care, and mental health services.
Tim Farren, Chair of the new organisation (formerly Chair of Baptcare VIC/TAS/SA) says
“This is such an important day in the combined 270-year legacy of three wonderful organisations. We have a shared mission to strengthen communities by valuing people and supporting them to have hope, dignity and a fullness of life. As we move forward, our focus is on continuing to improve outcomes for those we serve.”
Baptcare and the Baptist Union of Victoria have journeyed together since Baptcare’s beginnings in 1945, serving not only Baptist communities, but local communities all through Victoria. As BaptistCare transitions to a national organization, the strong local Victorian focus will be unchanged as, alongside the BUV, the organization continues to foster opportunities to assist and advocate for the more vulnerable members of the communit
