Justice and Advocacy

As Baptists, we are called to follow the example of Jesus in advocating for the poor and marginalised. As a Support Hub, we aim to both raise awareness of social and justice issues among our churches and congregations, as well as educate, resource and mobilise advocacy for these issues. We work in collaboration with our agencies and national affiliates, such as BaptistCare, Baptist World Aid Australia and Baptist Mission Australia on many social issues and develop and distribute resources to churches.

The BUV is both a member of the national Baptist Advocacy Roundtable along with other state associations and agencies, and also brings together a Victorian Justice and Advocacy Working group to assist with engaging champions of provide justice from around our Union.
